This analytic product supported the exploration of dynamic social media data. Users could explore temporal, geospatial, and topical trends.
As part of the Future Power Grid Initiative, the goal of this product was to provide power operators access to shared data which could foster collaboration and communication between organizations.
Efficient power grid operations rely heavily on real-time information transparency and wide-area situation awareness (WSA). However, power grid operators still communicated through phone during critical events. Using only verbal communication like this could easily lead to miscommunication.
In order to solve this issue, 'Shared Perspective' allowed organizations to securely and flexibly share information across organizational boundaries. A common view of shared information was available to all organizations. These shared communication incorporated information from domains outside of the power grid e.g., weather, social, cyber, etc.
